Welcome! to cucina nicolina, where I write about the (vegetarian) cooking life in and out of my little second-floor kitchen in San Francisco.
Here you'll find my favorite recipes, stories about California as well as travel notes, lots of photos, and general thoughts on food and life. More about me.

oh, these shots are nice!
Can you gain weight from really good pictures of cake? All kidding aside – i love your blog and i look so forward WW every week. Such lovely photos – thanx.
Lovely. The only thing I don’t love about your second job of cooking and baking is that it doesn’t happen at all close enough to Colorado.
O delicious…I am coveting the cake and those emerald-green microgreens…
I bought several pints of pretty yellow plums with tart skins and sweet flesh. After looking at these pictures I felt convicted in my soul that I should treat those plums right and bake them into a lovely, crusty cake. But I think I’ll just eat them as they are, since I am greedy for them and don’t want to wait on a cake.
